(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 26, 2011) In a week 16 57th Squadron 2011 rivalry, Doomsday beat a strong Rick's Rebels team by a score of 125 to 104, silencing a partisan crowd of 68,856.

Doomsday were led to their 21 point victory by a 39 point effort from Drew Brees, who beat the Atlanta Falcons defense for 307 passing yards and 4 passing TDs in addition to 9 rushing yards. With this performance, Brees was the number 5 ranked quarterback for week 16. They also got help from a 20 point effort from Robbie Gould, who snuck past the Green Bay Packers defense for 2 field goals made and 1 extra point.

"They gave us a big scare," Doomsday coach Wayne Williamson said.

Rick's Rebels were helped out in a losing cause by a 22 point effort from Malcom Floyd, who got by the Detroit Lions defense for 95 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. They also got help from a 21 point effort from John Kasay, who snuck past the Atlanta Falcons defense for 1 field goals made and 6 extra points.

"I'm really proud of our guys," Rick's Rebels coach Rick said.

Adding salt to the wound, Rick's Rebels could have scored 137 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Rick left key players like Eli Manning and his corresponding 33 points on the bench.

Doomsday took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 17 out of 18 other potential opponents in week 16.

This brings the record for Doomsday to 7-6, and drops Rick's Rebels to a record of 9-4.

57th FANTASY LEAGUE NEWS - With two weeks left the playoff race is heating up. With wins this week the Poland Polskas, Rick Rebels, and Lake Wobegon Storm secure playoff spots. Silent but Deadly has forfeited their right to a spot in the playoffs by failing to participate at all this season. This elaves one slot left which will most likely be decided this week as the Rift Walkers face off against the SCORPIONS.

In the South division Doomsday would seem to have secured a playoff spot, but BOHICA can come from behind and take this division. The next two weeks will decide who moves on. The race for the last remaining playoff spot will play out in the next two weeks as the 6-5 Blitzburg takes on the 4-7 Bonecrushers. If the Bonecrushers win both of their final games they will secure the final playoff spot through a Power Rank tie breaker.

Rick's Rebels were led in week 15 by a 52 point effort from the Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Team. Based on projections from FantasySharks.com, Rick's Rebels can expect a 41 point effort from Tony Romo in week 16, who is expected to get by the Philadelphia Eagles defense for 255 passing yards and 3 passing TDs.

"It's going to be a battle of epic proportions," Rick's Rebels coach Rick said.

Doomsday were led in week 15 by a 65 point effort from Drew Brees, who tore apart the Minnesota Vikings defense for 412 passing yards and 5 passing TDs in addition to 4 rushing yards. In addition, Roy Helu was not injured before the start of his week 15 game, and contributed 18 points, but he's listed as out in week 16 due to an injured toe , which might severely limit his fantasy production. Based on projections from FantasySharks.com, Doomsday can expect a 49 point effort from Drew Brees in week 16, who is expected to beat the Atlanta Falcons defense for 350 passing yards and 3 passing TDs.

"We have to suck it up," Doomsday coach Wayne Williamson said.

This is the first game between these two franchises in 2011, and is sure to be a game for the ages. In the 2-year history of this rivalry, Rick's Rebels hold a 0-2-0 all-time series record against Doomsday.
